Bandar Seri Begawan – Malaysia Airlines (MAS) held a Raya gathering yesterday at the Millennium Restaurant, Supasave Gadong, in an attempt to further foster and strengthen the relationships between the airline and its Bruneian partners.

Brunei’s Area Manager of MAS Mohamed Safri Abdullah said the gathering was an open house to not only celebrate Hari Raya but also to thank travel agents for their cooperation during the past year.

“This is an annual event to caphire the interest of Brunet’s small market,” he said.

He explained that MAS only operate three times a week in Brunei while other airlines fly daily to the country.

“We want to create awareness and remind everyone that we are still here,” said Mohamed.

Some 150 guests from 11 appointed travel agents, various corporate companies, government agencies as well as staff from customs and immigration were expected to attend the gathering.

MAS Sales Executive Nur Khadijah Abdullah also briefed the guests on promotion packages currently on offer by the airline.

She began by informing them on the changing of Malaysia Airlines’ ticketing system which will help facilitate ticket processing, booking and networking procedures.

She also spoke of the company’s Malaysia Stop-over Programme where passengers are given a one night free stay in Kuala Lumpur as part of the Tourism Malaysia Package. Other on-going promotions by Malaysia Airlines include the ASEAN Pass Promotion where one would only have to pay USD$229 (BND$320) for four coupons, allowing you to fly from Brunei to KL to any location is Southeast Asia before heading back to Kuala Lumpur and then Brunei.
